Justice Minister Andrew Little has criticized Australia's deportation laws, saying they lack humanitarian ideals.
Over 600 Kiwis have had their visas canceled by Australia since stricter laws were passed. all his life in Australia and have little or no connection with New Zealand.
Appearing on ABC Foreign Correspondent in a story about the laws, Little clarified his feelings.

The last case concerns a 17-year-old boy who been released from an adult detention center in Victoria instead of being deported.
The Australian Government is seeking legal advice on this matter
"The Decision [to grant him a visa] was issued and the minister takes advice on the options, "said a spokesman for Australian Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton .
Dutton also defended Australia's deportation laws on Exhibition Foreign Correspondent .
"These are New Zealand citizens, they are not Australian citizens. And it's not a violation of human rights, "said Dutton.
