New York, NY – Tekashi 6ix9ine's legal team would be concerned about the future of his client after learning that the federal government had a confidential informant of the 6ix9ine crew. According to TMZ, lawyer Lance Lazzaro explained that it was "a serious development" for their case.
"Whenever there is a confidential informant, there is reason to worry," Lazzaro told TMZ. "I am convinced that any conversation recorded with [Tekashi] will prove that he has never been part of the company and will support the conclusion that he is innocent. "
6ix9ine was taken into custody on 17 November. He and four of his former associates are charged with 17 various charges related to their alleged involvement in the gang of Nine Trey Bloods. Three of these charges are punishable by a maximum life sentence.
After being held for a few days at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center, 6ix9ine was transferred to another federal institution for "security reasons." On Monday, November 26, 6ix9ine pleaded not guilty and set the date of the trial to September 4. 2019.
Although 6ix9ine was initially released on bail, Lazzaro plans to appeal directly to the trial judge for his release.
