Two charged after damaged golf course

Two men from Oamaru face charges after a maneuver that caused significant damage to the North Otago Golf Club this weekend.

Men aged 22 and 25 were arrested on Monday and charged with illegally interfering with a motor vehicle. following the incident, which would have occurred on Friday evening or early Saturday

A four-wheel drive vehicle was driven on the club's training ground next to the pavilion and then on several greens and alleys.

The driver performed burnouts on some of the wet fairways, leaving deep gouges in the ground.
