Two Taranaki farms were issued management notices while they are being tested for mycoplasma bovis.
Both farms are near Inglewood and the management notices were issued by the ministry last week. This is the first time that tests for livestock disease have been conducted in the region, said the Ministry of Primary Industries (MPI) at Radio New Zealand
MPI issues an opinion management when an authorized person believes that doing the balance sheet and other property at risk of a property could spread the disease.
It does not limit the movement of stocks or goods on a farm, but livestock can leave the farm only with a permit.

Between 70 and 80% of farms tested have negative results.
There are e 41 properties with active Mycoplasma bovis infections, and 158 under management advice.
