Crash Team Racing: nitro powered is one of the many games on Nintendo Switch that can take an incredibly long time to load. Fortunately, the next update of the live racing game will dramatically improve load times.

Version 1.05 will use the switch's boost mode, which allows you to temporarily overclock the system's CPU to speed up the load times in the game. Here are the full release notes:

Nitro-Fueled Team Racing Crash is a live game and Beenox is constantly working on adjustments and improvements in the racing experience. This patch covers various quality of life improvements to provide the best possible kart racing experience. The update should be available the next day for PS4 and Xbox One, and the following week for Nintendo Switch players.

This hotfix represents the following platform versions:

  • PS4 – 1.07
  • Xbox One – 1.0.1.1
  • Switch – 1.05

The following items will be addressed in the hotfix:

All platforms:

  • Improved loading time on all platforms
  • Fixed stability when playing online
  • Adjustment to track selection frequency when choosing tracks in online matchmaking lobbies
  • Fixed various runway exploits
  • Global recharge time setting for power on all drives (prevents lock / warp clock spam)
  • Fixed lobbies not repopulating properly after the player stopped
  • Fixed blend position and rewards at the end of the race
  • Various other problems

Specific Nintendo Switch:

  • Improved loading times in boost mode

Boost mode was added to the switch in the April firmware update and improved loading times in Nintendo games such as The legend of Zelda: the breath of nature and Super Mario Odyssey. Third party securities such as Mortal Kombat 11 have also used it.
