Obsidian is preparing the second DLC expansion for The Outer Worlds, Murder on Eridanos, and it’s closer than you might think. As part of Take-Two’s earnings report, the company said it expects the DLC to launch during this fiscal year, which ends on March 31.
The company hasn’t given more details on when to expect the DLC, nor more details on gameplay. But with less than two months to go, we should expect to hear more soon. The same financial statement also notes that we will see the Switch version of the DLC arriving this calendar year.
Murder on Eridanos is the second half of the two-part extension pass which also includes the already released Peril on Gorgon. Given the name, it looks like you’ll be a murder investigating gumshoe, which would suit the classic Outer Worlds pulp style.
Peril on Gorgon increased the level cap to 33 and added new perks, flaws, science weapons, and armor sets. He also added a new environment, the asteroid Gorgon. You had to have completed Radio Free Monarch to even start the new quest, but Obsidian recommended that you start with your character at level 25. Murder on Eridanos can increase level cap.
Peril on Gorgon costs $ 15 as a standalone purchase or $ 25 with the Expansion Pass, so we can probably expect the same price for Murder on Eridanos. The Outer Worlds is included with an Xbox Game Pass subscription, but the DLC is sold separately. Game Pass subscribers get a small discount on the DLC, bringing the standalone DLC down to $ 13.50 and the expansion pass to $ 22.50.
