Bear in the Lions ET (Fox)
Detroit has been Fox's favorite destination for the Thanksgiving match in the early afternoon for quite some time, and it seems like it has been Chicago or Minnesota at this location every year for the past five years. This year it will be the Chicago Bears, which means there's a lot more to add to this meet because of the Bears' success in 2018.
Chicago was just a team on the rise – and one without his starting quarterback – when they came to Detroit last season. Huh. Unconventional Cowboys opponent on Thanksgiving here. It's on CBS, so it's a great game, thanks for asking. I do not think anyone can suggest that bills have the same appeal in a game against the Cowboys as the Redskins, the Giants or the Eagles. So it's a little surprising to see this game without division.
But the Bills could be a formidable opponent this year – Buffalo has made some interesting additions this season, and Sean McDermott makes the most of his team every year. The Cowboys will have high expectations after signing a big contract with Demarcus Lawrence and potentially Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper. My first take is that this game will end up being a lot better than the confrontation could indicate from the start.
Saints at Falcons, 8:20 pm ET (NBC)
This is the second year in a row that we have been shooting this close match of the NFC South on Thanksgiving, and there is reason to believe that the 2019 version should be better than last year a defeat of the Saints in which the Atlanta season came to an end.
The Falcons are in a somewhat desperate situation, with owner Arthur Blank explaining that another tough season for Dan Quinn could result in a huge turnover of coaching staff. The Saints are all back in 2019 after placing their chips in the middle of the table last year. Expect a lot of points in this one and a lot of fierce battles between two divisional rivals.
