Before we get into this week’s DFS players for Sunday’s fixture list, a quick recap of my players from week 12 and where it went right and (mostly) wrong. I finished with 120.48 points which barely hit the top 50% in case I was and was disappointed with the running back position as Alvin Kamara and Kareem Hunt got the dreaded snowflake symbol by their names after scoring 6.2 identical points. each. Those two hiccups were made up for with a pair of fiery starts at Justin Jefferson and my value pick Gabriel Davis, but the rest of my roster was average at best and therefore I still had to do my day job this week.
Taking the lessons learned from last week, here’s my DFS lineup for the main Sunday week 13 game list.
QB: Aaron Rodgers vs. Philadelphia Eagles ($ 6,800)
My top-rated passer this season, Rodgers is the current QB4 in fantasy and has played his best football since being MVP in 2014. Since losing to Tampa in Week 6, Rodgers has scored a whopping 23.5 fantasy points in any game and I don’t expect anything to change against an average defense of the Eagles this week. A good start for this week’s programming.
RB: Nick Chubb @ Tennessee Titans ($ 7,700)
Chubb has been running like a freight train since returning from injury, with three straight games over 110 yards and a pair of touchdowns. I have him in my roster this week before his value hits Derrick Henry / Dalvin Cook’s level because that’s where he’s heading. The Titans are a last 7 point defense, so I expect Chubb to turn it back on in Week 13.
RB: David Montgomery vs. Detroit Lions ($ 5,500)
It’s all about the game, as the Lions boast the worst fantasy run defense in the league this year. Add to that, Montgomery is coming off his best fantastic performance and 100-yard opener of the season last week, and he’s a great value RB2 pickup this week.
WR: DK Metcalf vs. New York Giants ($ 8,200)
Metcalf is one of the best players in the league right now and has a favorable game against the Giants as the Seahawks look to keep pace in the race for the NFC number one seed. He’s averaged nearly six more points per game than Tyler Lockett over the past month and is a clear receiving option for the remainder of the season.
WR: Justin Jefferson vs. Jacksonville Jaguars ($ 6,900)
I’m heading back to the well with Justin Jefferson this week because even with Adam Thielen activated from the COVID roster, the Jaguars’ pass defense game is too good to be turned down. Even with an increase of $ 800 last week, Jefferson is still of great value as the Vikings try to stay in the NFC playoff race.
WR: Keke Coutee vs. Indianapolis Colts ($ 3,000)
My value game of the week as the number of pass catchers available to Deshaun Watson took another hit with Will Fuller’s end-of-season suspension. With Kenny Stills freed and Randall Cobb injured, Coutee became the No.2 option behind Brandin Cooks and is expected to see a big increase in targets for the Texans this week. The opportunity is there, he just has to seize it.
TE: Robert Tonyan vs. Philadelphia Eagles ($ 3,700)
Tonyan has the primary confidence of Aaron Rodgers and, with seven TDs this season, is a big threat in the passing game. I love stacking him with Rodgers this week against the Eagles and he’s my secret weapon for being the TE1 in fantasy this week.
FLEX: Cam Akers @ Arizona Cardinals ($ 4,500)
My riskiest game this week as a running back has always been inconsistent for the Rams this season, but hopefully Akers’ breakout performance last week leads him to take on the same volume role. this week against the Cardinals.
DST: Chicago Bears vs Detroit Lions ($ 3,100)
I’m counting on the Bears’ defense rebounding from the spanking given to them by Aaron Rodgers and the Packers last week as they face much friendlier opposition from the Lions, who are still without Kenny Golladay, and that Matthew Stafford continues to treat a thumb injury. and Andre Swift being relieved of a concussion. A win for the Bears keeps them in the playoff race and the defense will be the catalyst to get them there.
