NFL Draft 2019: notes, analysis for each second round choice, from Byron Murphy to D.K. Metcalf

1

Byron Murphy, BC, Washington

I like this movement. I think this kid is a brave kid. He will put his head on it and he will attack it. There are some corners of this sketch that do not attack (see Greedy Williams), but this kid is tough. The Cardinals bounced back after a tough first night. Grade: B +

2

Rock Ya-Sin, BC, Temple

The Colts had a good season from Pierre Desir last year, they need help from the other side. I think this choice makes perfect sense for the Indianapolis Colts. Good choice and they have many choices and will be very active today. Category B

3

Jawaan Taylor, OT, Florida

The Jaguars took her out of the park (with Josh Allen in the first round and now Taylor). This kid is naughty. Talk about fat guys. Put it in the right position and now, suddenly, your offensive line is consolidated. I love this choice. The Jaguars have understood it well. Grade: A

4

Deebo Samuel, WR, South Carolina

I think there were better options here. I think Parris Campbell or even DK Metcalf would have been a better option. This kid just does not run very well and I'm worried he is only 5-11 years old. Category B

5

Greg Little, OT, Mississippi

I love this kid. This is an A + in my book. This kid is a first-round talent. It was question before the season that he was in the top 10. He did not really play this, but you put him under the good training and I think he has all the skills to become an All-Pro. Grade: A +

6

Cody Ford, OL, Oklahoma

When I talked to Sean McDermott (head coach of the Bills) at the combine, one of the things he said is that we need to improve around Josh Allen, well, they l & # 39; 39 have done. This kid really gets them a lot better. It's a hell of a tackle. Nice step by Buffalo Bills. Grade: A

7

Sean Bunting, BC, Central Michigan

The Bucs had problems with the angle last year. Vernon Hargreaves has never failed in the way he thought he could play. They have to get better around the corner. This is a choice of need. Category B

8

Trayvon Mullen, BC, Clemson

I think there were better options here. I think of Greedy Williams, even though he is a battery-powered jumper because he does not attack anyone. You must always get this type of coverage. It covers, it just does not attack. Do not like what the Raiders do. Grade: C +

9

Dalton Risner, OL, State of Kansas

I do not like the kid. The Big 12, I think I could play at the left tackle of this conference without giving up any sacks. There are not many passers in the Big 12, so slow down. Category B

ten

Drew Lock, Quarter, Missouri

I like the kid. He has the swagger and a big arm. All I like in a quarterback. I think he's going to order the huddle. It's a banger. Many people compare it to Jay Cutler, but you know what, there is also a little Brett Favre. Grade: A

11

Jahlani Tavai, LB, Hawaii

I like it. He flies to football. Nowadays, you must have a guy who can fly and run and chase. Grade: B +

12

Elgton Jenkins, OL, State of Mississippi

This is one of the guys that was on my list. People say McCoy and Bradbury, but he was with them. He's a sporty kid, he can ride on the pitch and he's sometimes naughty. He's going to be a good player for the Packers. Category B

13

Joejuan Williams, BC, Vanderbilt

He was the captain of my best that of the team, that tells you what I think of him. I love this kid. The patriots of New England understood it. Bill Belichick works the system better than anyone. Belichick the master at work again. Grade: A +

14

Greedy Williams, BC, LSU

I like his cover skills, do not get me wrong. Let's face it when you can rush the smuggler with Olivier Vernon from one side and you have the other guy Garrett on the other side, you'll be able to attack and play the bail. I do not like his ability to attack. Category B

15

Marquise Blair, S, Utah

What does Seattle want? They want another Count Thomas, a guy they can pick up in the middle of the field and move from one line to another. Now, this kid, I'm not saying that it's Earl Thomas, but that's the kind of player they want. I think there were better options. Category B

16

Erik McCoy, OL, Texas A & M

It was a wise choice as they had to replace Max Unger. Drew Brees must be protected inside because he is a quarterback short, so it works. Grade: B +

17

Ben Banogu, EDGE, TCU

This guy is a DPR (designated rusher). He will play on the third try. The Colts have to improve in third place. I like this choice. I do not like it, but here is the market in this division, you better be able to pass the passer in a hurry. Category B

18

Irv Smith, TE, Alabama

I like this choice. Look, here is the market, it can block. There are not many tight ends that can block and catch. This guy is a tight close complete. Irv Smith will block, so I think it makes him an immediate impact player. Category B

19

A J. Brown, WR, Mississippi

He is a better receiver than DK Metcalf. I love this kid, I think that's a good choice. The Titans must do everything in their power to improve Marcus Mariota, he must improve, so why not give him another weapon, allow him to throw the football, better throw the football , to be more productive. Grade: A

20

Drawn sample, TE, Washington

It's a strange choice for me. It is difficult to kill them for this choice because it was not used in Washington. I think that once in the NFL game, he will be perhaps a better player than what he showed in Washington, because all his skills are there. Grade: C

21

Miles Sanders, RB, Penn State

I give this note A, you know why? You write half a point in the second round and that's fine, you can get by. Not in the first round, the second round is good. A marvel of a year, right? He only played one year behind Saquon Barkley. It does not matter when you are a half-wearer, there is no wear and tear. Grade: A

22

Lonnie Johnson, BC, Kentucky

Last year, they had very significant problems in terms of coverage. Big, long, instinctive corner, played in the SEC. Surprised it lasted so long. Category B

23

Max Scharping, OT, North Illinois

Their offensive line was a disaster last year, Deshaun Watson was sacked 62 times. He can move, he must get better up there. Good choice. Category B

24

Mecole Hardman, WR, Georgia

It's definitely a choice where you say that if something happens at Tyreek Hill, it's a "B-". I think it's a reactionary choice. I think there were better options. Parris Campbell or Riley Ridley would have been better choices. He was not even the best WR of his team, Ridley was. Category B-

25

JJ Arcega-Whiteside, WR, Stanford

I think there were better options on the ground. He did not play at this speed. When you watch it on tape, you say it's a big physical guy, but it does not run so well, well, it ran as well. I'm worried when guys do not play at their speed. Grade: B +

26

Trysten Hill, DL, UCF

There were problems on the ground that led him to stay outside, to spend time on the bench. When you insert a cassette, the kid is a force. I love this choice. Grade: A

27

Parris Campbell, WR, State of Ohio

General Manager Chris Ballard is taking him out of the park. It is one of my favorite receivers. One of my # 1 guys in this project regarding the guys on the outside. It can outright fly. It has been misused in Ohio State. Grade: A

28

Nasir Adderley, S, Delaware

They will associate him with Derwin James. They still have Adrian Phillips, but you know how Gus Bradley plays his security game, they play a lot of three looks on security. I think it's a choice for the future. The shippers have a lot of projects. Grade: B +

29

Taylor Rapp, S, Washington

He is a playmaker but his time of 40 is a concern. He plays much faster than that, which is seen on a tape. Category B

30

Andy Isabella, WR, Massachusetts

The Cardinals need playmakers, and that's a guy who does it. He can fly. I love Andy Isabella. He has a chance to be special. I do not like what they did in the rough draft, but this one makes sense. Category B

31

Juan Thornhill, S, Virginia

I love the protections that have been corners in both their careers, and Thornhill has played there sometimes for the Cavaliers. This gives him a reach in the middle of the field. He can also play a coin slot if necessary. Grade: A

32

D.K. Metcalf, WR, Mississippi

He looks like Julio Jones, but he does not play like Julio Jones. Where is the productivity for a guy with this kind of physical traits? He can run, he is tall, he is strong, he is powerful and he does not publish many numbers. Why? Because he has not moved. Category B-
