NFL Network’s ‘Game Theory’ Projects Dolphin Vs Outcome Against Bills

The Miami Dolphins haven’t had much luck against the Buffalo Bills in recent years. The Bills have won seven of the last eight and five in the series – leaving Miami wondering what they need to do to crack the code and find some success against Buffalo. If they manage to overcome the bump this year, it will be a critical victory for Miami and their playoff aspirations.

But it’s always easier said than done.

What are the odds of Miami? The betting lines are somewhere around a basket in favor of Buffalo; which means the Dolphins would be almost a touchdown underdog on a neutral site game. Thankfully, Week 2 is not on neutral ground – although plans for a point of sale still cause Miami to slow the pace of their lofty aspirations on Sunday.

NFL Network’s Cynthia Frelund offers an annual projection and forecast for the outcome of each NFL game – the forecast for Miami in week 2 is not favorable in the eyes of Frelund’s “Game Theory” projection model.

‘Game theory’ calls for Miami to fall to Buffalo in Week 2 by a final score of 28-21 – giving the Bills a 61% chance of winning the game and a 57% chance of covering the reported gap of. 3.5 points in favor of invoices.

Ultimately, until the Dolphins prove they can overcome the hump and beat Buffalo, it’s hard to argue with the projection. But the Dolphins have made a number of moves this offseason to introduce more depth into the key points that are needed to give the team the punch and firepower to topple the Bills and claim a victory. We’ll see if Week 2 is when Miami can finally put its Northern New York demons in the rearview mirror.
