NFL Rumors: Chargers Reject Melvin Gordon's Commercial Offer to the Eagles

The Los Angeles Chargers seem to stick to the asking price for Melvin Gordon, at least for the moment.

The Chargers rejected a Philadelphia Eagles trade offer, in which the star would return to Philadelphia in exchange for Jordan Howard, an exchange of choice between two teams and Los Angeles paying a portion of Gordon's salary, Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer reported. Mike Florio, of ProFootballTalk, reported Tuesday night that one team was interested in trading for Gordon. Breer's later reports identify the Eagles as the mystery pretender.

ESPN's Field Yates hinted that the Houston Texans may be interested in acquiring Gordon after Lamar Miller's injury to the ACL. However, the price charged by Los Angeles could also prove prohibitively expensive for Houston.

This is until the regular season begins and the desires and needs of the teams involved are clearly defined.
