NFL rumors: QB Colt McCoy lands on his feet after leaving Giants

[ad_1]

Colt McCoy is heading west to pursue his NFL career.

ESPN reports that the former New York Giants quarterback signed a one-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals on Tuesday, where he will support Kyler Murray.

Cardinals leave quarterback Brett Hundley, who backed Murray in 2019 and was the team’s third quarterback in 2020, walks in free agency, leaving the team with the former CFL quarterback Chris Streveler as Murray’s backup. …. McCoy could fill Hundley’s role as a veteran in the Cardinals quarterback room while still being inactive all season.

McCoy was able to read the writing on the wall after the Giants signed Mike Glennon earlier this month to support quarterback Daniel Jones in 2021.

McCoy, 34, is a 10-year NFL veteran and a former 2010 Cleveland Browns third-round pick.

McCoy played four games with the Giants in 2020, starting twice, leading New York to a thwarted victory over the Seattle Seahawks in Week 13.

McCoy finished the season with 375 passing yards, one touchdown and one interception, as well as a completion percentage of 60.6.
