Developing the regular season schedule of 256 games in a fair and balanced way is not the easiest task to accomplish each spring. When you try to take into account stadium availability, broadcast partners, international matches, and other variables, random hazards can surface in the different iterations of the calendar.
A particular problem that had been produced in the 2019 program has left NFL Broadcast V.P. Michael North expressing some regret.
Via Nate Davis from United States todayNorth said he wanted another chance to produce the schedule for the Oakland Raiders and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with both teams playing seven weeks of matches at their stadium.
"This is a project the NFL would like to find. It's certainly not unusual for an NFL team to have a home game in six weeks, "said North. "But when this house [game] is not really at home, it's probably something the NFL would want to avoid in the future.
"I would like a remake on that one."
After opening the season with home games against the Denver Broncos (Sept. 9) and the Kansas City Chiefs (Sept. 15), the Raiders will not play any more home games until Week 9 against the Detroit Lions. (November 3rd). They play four games on the road, serve as a home team against the Chicago Bears in London, and have their week off between games at the Oakland Coliseum.
For the buccaneers, they take the road after hosting the Giants of New York during the third week (22 September). They will no longer play at Stade Raymond James before the tenth week against the Arizona Cardinals (November 10). They also play four games on the road, win their week off and travel to London to host the Carolina Panthers during this period.
