Rejoice, football fans! The first Sunday of the NFL regular season is here! The 2021 season has started well thanks to the exciting game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The other 30 teams are making the final adjustments to their roster ahead of Week 1, which means managing their injury report. Some teams have received positive news regarding key players struggling with injuries. Indianapolis Colts head coach Frank Reich said quarterback Carson Wentz would start after undergoing foot surgery just over a month ago, and New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley appears to be on track to play on Sunday after missing most of last season with an ACL injury. Other squads are not so lucky, however. The Baltimore Ravens have already suffered a lot of injuries, especially to their running backs.

Injury: Foot

After being limited to training all week, Sanders is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers with a lingering foot injury. Sanders, however, is likely to play his first game for the Bills this weekend. The oldest player in the roster quickly developed a chemistry with quarterback Josh Allen and is expected to have a big role in attack this year. –Alaina Getzenberg


Injury: hamstrings

Wayne, who missed all of 2020 with a chest injury, will not be making his Cincinnati debut against his former club the Minnesota Vikings. Waynes suffered a hamstring injury towards the end of training camp and didn’t train the whole week before Sunday’s game. Look for cornerback Eli Apple to start against Chidobe Awuzie. Injury: Finger

Decker injured his finger earlier in the week and will miss the first week. “We will adapt from there and move forward,” said Lions coach Dan Campbell. Decker started training on Wednesday, but the injury occurred in the pass protection. He met with a doctor on Friday afternoon where his status was determined. Smith has trained exactly three times this season – once halfway through training camp to stop him the next day, then twice this week just to take place on Friday. What would the Packers miss without him?
