When the Jets hired Adam Gase in the offseason, the idea was that he give an offensive boost to the teambut that nudge never took place Sunday in a match that proved a disastrous start for the new head coach of the team.
The Jets not only lost to a division rival 17-16, but lost their home lead since 2002. The Jets were 16-0 with just under four minutes left in the third quarter before the Bills go up. a comeback with 17 consecutive points over the last 19 minutes of the match.
For the Jets, the biggest problem of the game was their attack.

Less than a week ago, Jets quarterback Sam Darnold said Gase 's new attack would be "electric", but it' s certainly not the word used by Gase to describe his team after seeing his offense score only 225 yards against Buffalo.
"We were inept at the attack," said Gase after the match, via SNY.com. "Make mistakes that you can not do always move the ball. "
To put "inept" into perspective, the Jets defense scored as many points (eight) as the Jets attack.
Los Angeles quarterback Josh Allen did everything to give the game in the first half. Not only did he launch two interceptions, including a pick-six, but he also lost two fumbles for a total of four turnovers. Fortunately for Allen however, the "inept" offense of the Jets could not take advantage of all the gifts that he offered them.
Allen's first turn-back occurred when he lost a fumble against the first player in possession of Bills. The Jets responded by immediately scoring three goals and a half. Allen escaped another possession in the second quarter and, again, the Jets responded with three shots on goal.
One possession after fumbling, Allen gave the Jets offensive another shot against life when he launched an interception, but once again, the Jets were not able to capitalize. After taking over Buffalo's 48-yard line, the Jets ran for 21 yards, but did not score any points as Kaare Vedvik missed a 45-yard foul. The Jets attack scored zero on three turnovers. (The only points the Jets got in the four Buffalo turnovers came when Allen pitched a pick six to C.J. Mosley).
Darnold was a big part of the problem for the Jets. Not only did he pitch for just 175 yards, but he knocked over his receivers several times in a match where he went 28 out of 41. Of course, you can not completely blame Allen, and that's partly because that the problem is that he has never looked fully at ease behind a porous offensive line for the Jets. Darnold was sacked four times and was pressured almost every time he came back to pass.
One of the ways the Jets could have possibly slowed down this pressure is to throw the ball, but Gase seemed to forget the fact that he had the Vein Bell on his team, which is a bit odd considering the fact that the Jets just gave to Bell a $ 52.5 million four-year contract in March.
In a game where the Jets were leading the way, Gase refused to give the ball to Bell, who had only 17 carries over Darnold's 41 attempts. On one side, it makes sense that Gase wants to simplify Bell's life. After all, it had been 602 days since he had not played for the last time. But, once the match started, Gase should have noticed that Bell was completely new. The attacking midfielder had 60 yards on the ground and was the only Jets offensive touchdown on a nine-yard hold in the third quarter.
If Gase does not see how to get his attack restarted soon, the 2019 season could be disastrous for the Jets.
