Hollywood Brown (finally) catches a long TD
As it turns out, Marquise Brown can do touchdown passes, which was not the case last week when he dropped three balls that could easily have ended in scores. It was also the most difficult catch, as the tall Brown had to lie down completely to score the 49-yard score. It was Brown’s third touchdown of the season, two of which totaled at least 42 yards.
Broncos rookie RB refuses to come down
Javonte Williams basically split runs with veteran Melvin Gordon over three games, but the second round rookie will surely receive more hits if he has more runs like the one he broke at the end of the first quarter against the Ravens. After turning to avoid a defender near the line of scrimmage, Williams made several tackles, then carried All-Pro cornerback Marlon Humphrey 20 yards before finally descending inside the 10-yard line. The Broncos opened the scoring two games later.
Missed FG gives Jets first victory
Shortly after the Giants claimed their first victory in 2021, the Jets followed suit with the touchdown-favorites Tennessee Titans. As the Giants won their game with their offense, the Jets’ defense held up just enough to force a 49-yard field goal attempt. Randy Bullock’s attempt sailed wide to the left, giving the Jets a 27-24 overtime victory.
Big Ben’s historic TD puts Steelers in the lead
After an uninspiring performance in last week’s loss to the Bengals, Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers wereted no time letting the league know they can still rack up points. Less than five minutes into the game, Roethlisberger hit a pass that landed straight into Diontae Johnson’s hands for 45 yards. It was Big Ben’s 400th career touchdown pass, becoming the eighth quarterback in NFL history to do so.
Washington turns frenzied racing into winning TD
In the third and seventh with 49 seconds left, it looked like Taylor Heinicke might have to throw the ball away, meaning Washington would have to settle for the winning field goal attempt. But Heinicke then sent the ball back across the field to JD McKissic, who did the rest as he passed Falcons defensemen to the front right pylon for a score of 30 yards. It turned out to be the last of Washington’s dramatic 34-30 triumph.
Saquon’s overtime touchdown gives Giants first win
Saquon Barkley capped his best performance of the season by far, slicing through the Saints’ defense for a 6-yard touchdown to give the Giants their first win of the season. After entering Sunday with 190 scrimmage yards in three games, Barkley racked up 126 yards (52 rushing and 74 receiving) and two points in surprise.
Tyreek Hill 3rd TD concludes Chiefs victory
Hill’s huge day propelled Kansas City to their second win of the year, as they caught 11 passes for 186 yards and three touchdowns. His final score secured victory for the Chiefs. Back to .500 for them.
More Heinicke Magic
Who knows if Taylor Heinicke is the long-term answer in Washington, but there is something special about this player. He somehow thrives in the scramble situation, and did so again on Sunday.
There is the Saquon that we know
The Giants were down double-digit to the Saints in the fourth quarter, but a big play from Saquon Barkley changed that. The Penn State product is a dynamic reception if you remember it, and it looks better every week.
Zach Wilson calls his blow deep!
Wilson is having his best performance as a pro, and he’s been driving traffic on that pitch – telling former Titan Corey Davis to go long. They connected on a 53-yard touchdown.
If you haven’t noticed it yet, the Cowboys’ Trevon Diggs is a rising star in this league. He had two assists against the Panthers, which brings him up to five interceptions this season. He’s collected at least one assist in every game this year.
The No.2 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft hasn’t had an incredible start to his career, but he’s improving. He showed his potential on that third down throw, where he rolled right and hit Keelan Cole for a huge win.
Prescott is building his Comeback Player of the Year case, and that throw will surely be included on the highlight reel. He put it where it was needed.
Cordarrelle Patterson scores third TD of the day
Patterson is more than just a comeback specialist, he’s an offensive weapon. He’s had a good season so far with the Falcons, but Sunday was truly a career day. Patterson has now scored three touchdowns against Washington!
Justin Fields throws crazy
Fields impresses in Chicago. He and Darnell Mooney have logged in a few times for big wins – including that room where Fields dropped him straight into the bucket. What a throw!
Things are heating up in Atlanta. In the second half kick-off, Washington’s DeAndre Carter traveled 101 yards to regain the lead of the football team.
Taysom Hill may not be QB1, but he definitely plays an important role for the Saints. Check out this beast mode touchdown run that Marshawn Lynch would be proud of.
Jameis deep in Callaway
Remember when Jameis Winston and Marquez Callaway hung on for two touchdowns in the first half of a preseason game? They haven’t been able to wear that kind of success in the regular season, but they logged in for a deep shot today.
Khalil Mack throws a fumble recovery
The Bears’ defense is one of the best in the NFL, and they show up against the Lions. They forced a fumble from Goff into the red zone, and after recovering it, Khalil Mack had enough awareness to throw possession to someone with a faster wheel set to scoop up extra yards.

John Ross scores 52 touchdown yards in Game 1 as a Giant
Ross is playing his first game as a Giant today, and it didn’t take long for him to make an impact. In the second quarter, Daniel Jones found him spinning on the field for a score of 52 yards!
Tyreek Hill and Patrick Mahomes = cheat code
The Hill and Mahomes duo is just unfair. Just throw the ball at Hill and he’ll get it. Nice fingertip grip here.
The Washington football team were expected to have a top 3 defensive end in the league this year. Instead, across three games, he has the second worst unit in the entire NFL. Washington’s defense really struggled early against Atlanta, and Patterson torched them for a long scoreline.
David Montgomery with two early touchdowns
Montgomery is on the cusp of a career day. He scored a touchdown in the first quarter and then a second in the first play of the second quarter. He just wouldn’t be shot.
No Christian McCaffrey no problem? Matt Rhule and the Panthers aren’t just going to quit the race just because their top player is injured. Carolina selected a power option on the goal line, and the former Jet rigged the pitch while cutting the middle for the score. It’s now four rushing touchdowns for Darnold this season!
Fumble or interception?
Things don’t go well for the Lions at first. In fact, a snap started from Jared Goff’s shoulder and landed in the arms of Bears defensive tackle Bilal Nichols. Not sure we’ve seen anything like this before.
Mahomes Sneaky Landing
Patrick Mahomes is known for all the crazy things he can do with football. Against the Eagles, he recorded an UNDERHANDED touchdown pass.
Browns-Vikings is one of the most underrated clashes this week, but perhaps a win in Minnesota will make the NFL world realize how well Kirk Cousins is playing. He and star player Justin Jefferson logged in for the game’s first touchdown.
Hey, the Bears are shaking the ball this week! Chicago recorded more yards and points in his first practice (75 yards, seven points) than they did all week 3. Justin Fields has another chance to prove he’s quarterback. back of the future with Andy Dalton, and he hooked up with Mooney for a great first run. The pitch wasn’t incredibly precise, but Mooney was good enough to bring it back.
David Montgomery then scored the game’s first touchdown from the five-yard line.
Rain could affect Texans-Bills, Lions-Bears and more
It’s only the NFL’s first Sunday in October, but we’re already seeing a few games that could be affected by inclement weather conditions. Josh Allen and the Bills are the biggest favorites of the week, at -17.5 at home against the Texans, but it might not be that easy to fight Mother Nature. There is an 85% chance of rain from the start of the game at 1 p.m. ET until 4 p.m. ET, with winds in the 9-10 mph range, according to weather.com. It could also make things more difficult for Houston rookie Davis Mills, who is making his second start as a quarterback.
Meanwhile, the Bears are hoping Justin Fields’ second start won’t be as sloppy as the first, but the weather at Soldier Field could make it more difficult. There is a 40-50% chance of showers during the first three hours of the 1 p.m. ET game against the Lions. The good news is that wind shouldn’t be a factor, as it’s only supposed to reach 4-5mph.
Elsewhere, there’s a 50-60% chance of rain in Green Bay for the Steelers-Packers, and there could be light rain for Tom Brady’s return to Foxborough in a nightcap. Only light winds are expected in both.
