Even the toughest guys in the NFL can’t escape the wrath of COVID-19 … with superstar Cleveland Browns Myles Garrett admit the virus “hit me in the ass”.
The 24-year-old defensive end spoke on Friday about his experience with the coronavirus with reporters … saying he hoped he was asymptomatic – but he was not.
Garrett – who missed the last 2 games after being tested positive – said he had a fever, body aches and lost his sense of smell.
“I was in pain. It wasn’t great,” Garrett said. “It kicked me in the butt … Now I’m back,”
The defensive player of the year prospect has said he expects to be back 100 percent in time for the team’s crucial game against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.
“I’m not here to make a second-rate appearance or finish. I’m here to do the job I used to do. I don’t think there will be a drop.”
Garrett also said he’s worried about long-term health effects – like the Bills player Tommy sweeneyof myocarditis diagnosis – but notes that he sees doctors regularly and so far everything seems normal.
