Monday's deadline for NHL trade is rich in end-of-season dramas. We have already witnessed major changes and many more are almost certainly on the way.

Friday, the Ottawa Senators gave Matt Duchene the Columbus Blue Jackets against a pack of players and choices. On Saturday, the New York Rangers sent Mats Zuccarello to the Dallas Stars in exchange for conditional second and third round selections on announced team.

Senators winger Ryan Dzingel is also scheduled to meet with Duchene in Columbus, according to Elliott Friedman of Sportsnet:

It's a pretty juicy list of names in new homes. Rumors and speculations about the growth of the list are not lacking either. Let's review some of the latest ones.

Columbus refuel but remains open to Panarin's move

With the Blue Jackets acquiring both Duchene and Dzingel, it became clear that the team is all-in for a playoff series in 2019. This means that the franchise will not abandon the free agent pending Artemi Panarin for something less than an exceptional offer.

This does not mean, however, that Columbus will not weigh at least its options with regard to the left wing. Although it can certainly help the team in the final stretch of the match, the fact that it can leave in the off season and provide no compensation in return still weighs on the franchise.

According to Aaron Portzline of The Athletic, Columbus is still listening to Panarin's offerings, though something important is needed to reach an agreement.

The Blue Jackets are barely trailing behind the New York Islanders and Washington Capitals in the Metropolitan Division and are poised to grow after winning seven of their last 10 games. Keeping a list as complete as possible would be the sensible solution for a team that wants to continue its momentum.

A significant interest for Matt Stone

With Duchene and Dzingel now members of the Blue Jackets, Mark Stone is the last notable commercial token for the Senators. The team has tried to extend Stone, however, and will not let him go for cheap.

Predators not making Tolvanen available

If the Predators manage to get the stone back into an exchange, it is unlikely that Eeli Tolvanen will be part of the contract. Larry Brooks from New York Post reported that Nashville would not handle Tolvanen for a player whose contract expired:

It was relevant to the Rangers when Zuccarello was still available, and it will remain so if Nashville actually sues Stone, whose Contract is in place after the season.

First round pick in 2017, Tolvanen has not yet had any impact for Nashville. In fact, he has only appeared in seven parts since his appointment. However, he showed significant flashes in the KHL and at the 2018 Winter Olympics for Finland.

The Predators, it seems, are not willing to give up Tolvanen unless another young and developing player takes his place.
