Earlier this month, Pokémon GO Developer Niantic has announced that it will form a special “task force” to address gamers’ concerns about interaction distance.
In his latest post via social media, Niantic shared a brief update on the situation. While the task force’s plans are still on September 1, the team has decided to take action and increase the PokéStop and Gym interaction distance from 40 to 80 yards.
In a follow-up tweet, the company acknowledged how players and the gaming community have been heard – with more to share next week.
The aim of the working group, as explained earlier, is to develop proposals designed to preserve the game’s mission of inspiring people to explore the world together, while addressing concerns about the distance of interaction.
There you go, the 80-meter interaction distance is back. What do you think of these changes? Tell us below.
