Nick Bosa, the 49ers first-round pick, has been the subject of much criticism for social media posts that some considered racist. He pledged to leave Twitter to avoid controversy in San Francisco. A veteran in the locker room says it's useless.
Teammate Dee Ford said Bosa was already doing a good job in the low season and that the opinions he had expressed on social media did not matter.
"Yes, he's a great guy," Ford said through Jennifer Lee Chan of CSNBayArea.com. "Social media is social media. I'm mad. Honestly, who you are at work is important to me and he is a great guy. I do not even have social media. I'm not even aware of the quotes and all that. I'm mad. The one he introduced to us is a good guy ready to work and that's all that matters to me. "
The 49ers also did not seem to care what Bosa had tweeted, taking it with the second overall pick.
