WWE President Nick Khan has said that a “complete overhaul” of NXT is imminent, in an interview with BT Sport’s Ariel Helwani.
“We’re doing a complete overhaul of NXT, led by Triple H, Paul Levesque, who is truly one of the architects of the original NXT,” Khan said. “In terms of rebranding NXT, look for it in the next few weeks. It’s going to have a whole new look, it’s going to have a whole new feel.”
Khan also spoke of a change in philosophy when it comes to recruiting talent for the development brand.
“Which we believe, because of a lot of ‘independent wrestlers’ if you’ve been through our system and are in our system with SmackDown and Raw now, we don’t want to keep doing the same,” Khan said. “We want to look elsewhere for great young talents.”
NXT is recording several weeks of television over the next few days, catching the show at least until mid-September.
NXT TakeOver 36 takes place tonight at Capitol Wrestling Center in Orlando.
