Married at first sight star Nick Pendergrast expresses himself about what he described as a "shocking and devastating start to the year".
The personality of reality TV, which appeared in Season 4 of the Lifetime series, gave details of an almost fatal work accident that occurred six months ago. In a long publication on Instagram, Friday, Pendergrast revealed for the first time that he was partially paralyzed and that he had been forced to leave his partner. Pendergrast stated that on January 22, it was discovered after being submerged under water for "hours". He suffered from hypothermia, multiple fractures of the pelvis and sacrament, as well as several other injuries. Upon arrival from Yerrid to the emergency room, Pendergrast said, the doctors told him that he might not survive.
"It's been six and a half months and I finally feel that I have a direct response to what the future holds," he said. "The nerve damage caused by the blunt trauma left me partially paralyzed."
As a result, Pendergrast stated that it was forced to search for the "best environment" and the "best doctors" in order to "regain any functionality in [his] lower body."
"The last six months have been lonely, depressing, scary, stressful and difficult," he said. "Recently, my goal was to learn to become independent again as a disabled person, I have the support of my family."

Only a year before the accident in February 2018, Pendergrast and Yerrid welcomed twins, a little boy named Logan Joseph and a girl named Layla Rae. Throughout his recovery, Pendergrast said that he had only been able to see one child at a time, as Yerrid could not travel with both of them yet.
