Nick Sirianni could be a unique head coach

There are three songs that I have heard at Lincoln Financial Field that will remain etched in my memory forever:

  1. Eagles fans picked up the Vikings’ “SKOL” song and turned it into “CRAZY” song during the 2017 NFC Championship game. We all totally cheated on their fan base.
  2. A team of 3-7 Eagles were playing Monday Night Football in 2012. They lost 30-22. “FIRE ANDY clap-clap-clapclapclap” sounded in the stadium. Andy Reid was gone after this season.
  3. Last Sunday, 60,000 Eagles fans chanted “RUN THE BALL! RUN THE BALL! Starting running back Miles Sanders had seven races against Kansas City after a confusing game against the Cowboys where he had just two.

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a greater disconnect between the Eagles franchise and the fanbase than I do right now. I’m usually a ‘THROW IT EVERY TIME’ type, but, hey, football teams really need to throw the ball at some point.

After a 1-3 start, the Eagles still have an absolutely brutal schedule. A loss to Carolina this week could see the Eagles drop to 1-6 with games against the Buccaneers and Raiders looming.

Jalen Hurts played quite well on Sunday. I love what I’ve seen of him this year aside from his disastrous performance in Dallas. Regardless of whether the organization is considering Hurts “THE GUY” for 2022 and beyond, I have a feeling Nick Sirianni may not be here to bring it to fruition.

The little quirks that made Sirianni endearing wear out when the team isn’t playing. He just seems overwhelmed. It’s like the Eagles’ organization is playing a demented game of hiring the least experienced coach possible and seeing how quickly they could make 2021 a lost season.

Thanks for winning on Sunday. PLEASE.
