A new job can be scary and it seems to be the case for new Eagles coach Nick Sirianni. If you followed on Twitter during his introductory press conference on Friday, you would have seen some fiery shots of Sirianni, who seemed a little anxious to address the Eagles media for the first time.
Making it even more awkward was that he was doing it virtually, talking to a group of people online while simultaneously standing in an empty room.
John Clark of NBC Sports Philadelphia met Sirianni and asked him about the nervousness of the presser and the resulting fan reaction.
“I have to watch the tape,” Sirianni said partially jokingly. “And of course … just like when you’re going to have a game, okay there are going to be calls that you want to come back and there are going to be calls that you said, ‘Dude, that was a good one. call.
“What do we do? We go back, we watch the tape and the most important is that you try to improve yourself every day over and over again and the next time you go out.”
Despite how he may have stood out in his first public outing as head coach of the Eagles, it is encouraging to see that Sirianni is sufficiently aware of the situation and possessed enough humility to launch a wandering joke about it.
