“As soon as I started to walk towards him in the bed, I just felt the water start to come out,” Minaj added. “I was strangely calm and quietly said ‘omg I’m about to give birth’ He was very scared and I was laughing @ him.”
Regarding the support she has received from her famous friends since welcoming her son, the star revealed that Ariana Grande “sent him wonderful gifts” and credited her colleague, Ciara, for being “so helpful” with advice. (Minaj has collaborated with Grande on numerous occasions over the past few years, teaming up with Jessie J for “Bang Bang” in 2014 to star on the little pop star Dangerous woman– will smash “Side to Side” in 2016 and Sweetener promotional track “The Light is Coming” in 2018, as she and Ciara teamed up for the 2013 single “I’m Out”)
Minaj also shared her ultra-relatable experience with a newborn, saying that while the baby latched on in the hospital, the breastfeeding process was anything but easy for her.
“He had no problem breastfeeding. He latched onto the hospital, which really surprised me. I was afraid he might not do it, ”she wrote. “But breastfeeding is very painful. Pumping is too. Women make this stuff seem too easy. Moms are really superheroes.”
