Popular content creator NICKMERCS recently spoke about why he was “scared” of this year’s Call of Duty title and the future of Warzone based on the latest rumors. Although he admitted that there was one aspect, albeit a small one, that interested him.
Call of Duty 2021 is gearing up to be quite a controversial game. Rumored to be called Call of Duty WWII: Vanguard, the game will apparently be developed by Sledgehammer Games and take players back to WWII.
Reactions to the news have been somewhat mixed, with some players expressing support for the game and the time, while others are not really looking forward to Vanguard. Now a popular YouTuber has made his opinion clear on this and he doesn’t look too thrilled.
Rumor has it that Call of Duty 2021 dates back to WWII.
In a new video, YouTuber NICKMERCS has provided his thoughts on the upcoming game, which has yet to be officially announced at the time of writing, saying his uncertainty about the title and whether it will integrate with Warzone is summarizes the period during which it is installed.
“In the history of Call of Duty, whenever they go back in time, I’m just not a huge fan,” NICKMERCS said. “Just the energy, the vibe, it’s always like a war we’re in, it’s just sad times, a weird look, and I don’t really like that.
That being said, NICKMERCS said he was excited about the game and revealed that one aspect really interests him due to the implications for Warzone.
There is a rumor circulating that WWII Vanguard will run on the same engine as Modern Warfare (2019). The YouTuber says it’s a step in the right direction as he feels that “switching engines from game to game” and then trying to combine them all together can “lead to kind of a mess.”
Of course, not all rumors circulating about the game have yet been confirmed by Activision, Sledgehammer Games, or any other Call of Duty development studio. Currently, it is not known when the game will be announced by publishers.
