‘Night Court’ actor was 75 – The Hollywood Reporter

Charlie Robinson, the actor most recognized for his work on the sitcom Night court, is dead. He was 75 years old.

Robinson died at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center on Sunday from cardiac arrest with multisystem failures due to septic shock and metastatic adenocarcinoma, his representative said. The Hollywood reporter.

With a career spanning more than 50 years on the small screen and on stage, Robinson has gained recognition for his role as Court Clerk Mac Robinson on the longtime sitcom. Night court, which lasted from 1984 to 1992.

A member of Actors Studio, Robinson’s television credits include Love & War, Buffalo Bill, Home improvement, Mom, Dixie Hart, NCIS and The guest book. He also starred in films River, The rabbit house, Trigger it, Antoine Fischer, Jackson and Even the money.

He recently starred alongside Wendell Pierce in James Tyler’s play An old black man.

Throughout his career, Robinson has won a Best Actor Award, a Picture Theater Award and a FRED Award for his portrayal of Simon in The man who whips; an Ovation Award for Best Actor for his role as Troy Maxon in the 2008 production Fences and won the Camie Award twice for films Secret Santa (2003) and Miss Lettie and I (2002), which also starred Mary Tyler Moore and Burt Reynolds.

Robinson is survived by his wife, Dolorita, his children Luca, Charlie, Christian and Byron, his grandchildren, great grandchildren, his stepdaughters and his dog, “Nala”. The family requests their privacy at this time while preparing for an immediate family funeral.
