Paul George, in addition to his basketball fame, is well known to be an avid gamer. Before joining the league, the athlete spent quite a bit of time with his PlayStation – and luckily Sony took note. Following the 2018 DualShock-inspired collaboration, the two come together to celebrate the new look of the PS5.
The PG 5 serves as a proxy for this tribute, arriving in two very distinct colors. And while each option is inspired by the same source material, they individually celebrate different aspects of the console experience. For example, the first one takes you to the start screen, its upper part is tinted a nebular blue similar to the menu backdrop. White midsoles and tabs contrast next to it, making the PlayStation badge stand out even more.
Although much more modest, the alternative is a real nod to the PS5 itself. Its white exterior resembles the outer shell of the system, while black along the tongue and liner refers to the interior chassis. Cool tones then mark the sole, swoosh heel, and badge of the aforementioned pair, all essentially mimicking the blue light signature of the constantly depleted Sony product.
For a closer look, see the images below. A press release should arrive in May.
By the way, the Travis Scott Air Max 1 should also arrive soon.
