Nikon's bestial D6 will be his most advanced digital SLR to date

Mirrored cameras still fail to outperform digital SLRs in speed and focus accuracy. Therefore, for critical sports and news photography, the D6 is sure to be a hit. With the low and mid-range camera markets plummeting, it will also be a crucial camera for Nikon. The $ 6,000 D5 can shoot 20.8 megapixels at 12 frames per second with auto exposure and auto focus. Expect the D6 to exceed these numbers.

In addition to the camera – which strongly resembles the D5 – Nikon hopes to sell a lot of expensive lenses and accessories for performance. To this end, it also launches the super-telephoto zoom lens AF-S Nikkor 120-300mm f / 2.8E F aimed at sports and wildlife photographers. As promised, Nikon also unveiled the Nikkor Z 24mm f / 1.8S, an excellent first wide-angle lens for its Z 6 and Z 7 mirrorless cameras.

There are no specifications, launch dates or prices for the D6 or 120-300mm lenses, but the 24mm f / 1.8 Z premium will arrive between the middle and the end of October 2019 at a price of 1,000 $.
