Super Mario Maker 2 was announced for the first time at the big Nintendo Direct in February. Just like the original Wii U / 3DS game, it allows players to create and share their own custom Super Mario levels with the help of a suite of assets and tools. Nintendo has unveiled a handful of new customization options in the revelation trailer of the game. Among other things, players can now create slopes to allow Mario to slide down, adjust the direction of auto scrolling levels and use the resources of Super Mario 3D World.

The release date of Super Mario Maker 2 is set for June 28, just a few weeks after the end of the E3 2019. This is only one of the many big Switch games in the process of road this year. Nintendo also publishes Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Pokemon Sword and Shield, a new Animal Crossing and much more for the hybrid console in 2019.
