If you subscribe to the Nintendo Switch online service, good news: starting September 5th, 20 Super Nintendo games will be available on the system.
Nintendo announced the creation of the Super Nintendo Entertainment Library – Nintendo Switch Online when it was introduced in September 2019 on Nintendo Direct, which lists the top 20 SNES games available on the system. The titles will be free if you already pay for the Switch online service. The first batch of titles includes The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, The Island of Yoshi, Mario Kart and Fire Breath. The service will also get Stunt Race FX, marking the first time the game is available on a system other than SNES.
SNES NSO games will support local and online multiplayer, said Nintendo during the presentation, allowing you to compete against your friends in classic titles. It will also feature the SNES Classic Rewind feature, which lets you recall a few seconds in games when things go wrong.
In addition to games, Nintendo has also announced the availability of an SNES controller for Switch at $ 30. This is a special offer for NSO subscribers and will use the same cable as the Switch Pro controller for charging.
