REDMOND, Wash .– (BUSINESS WIRE– In a video today, Nintendo introduced Nintendo Switch Lite, a device specifically designed to play Nintendo Switch games in portable mode. The Nintendo Switch Lite system will be launched on September 20th at a suggested retail price of $ 199.99 and will be available in three different colors: yellow, gray and turquoise. A carrying case and a screen protector kit for Nintendo Switch Lite will also be available.

The flagship product Nintendo Switch was launched in March 2017 and offers three different game modes: playing in TV mode by placing the system on a Nintendo Switch dock, playing in table mode or in cooperation mode by sharing Joy-Con controllers and portable mode. The system comes with Gray Joy-Con controllers or Neon Red and Neon Blue Joy-Con controllers.
Nintendo Switch Lite has built-in controls and is smaller than the flagship version of Nintendo Switch. It does not have a kickstand and, as a dedicated portable gaming device, does not support video output on a TV. Therefore, it does not come with a docking station or an HDMI cable. The new device can play all the games in the robust Nintendo Switch library that supports portable mode *, although some games have restrictions. The compatible game modes will be listed on the back of the game's packaging and in Nintendo eShop.
