Nintendo positions Switch Lite as a support console in new marketing

Nintendo launched its marketing campaign for Nintendo Switch Lite, in a pair of videos posted on its British and Japanese YouTube channels.

In Western advertising, the platform holder promotes Lite as a device associated with the original Switch model, noting that the new hardware is "dedicated to handheld gaming."

Meanwhile, the Japanese video focuses on the new features of the Switch Lite, including its touchpad and portability.

Announced in July and launched on September 20th for $ 200 / £ 200, Switch Lite is a smaller, lighter system than the original Switch console.

It can not be connected to a TV but can play all the Switch games that support the portable mode. It has built-in controls that do not include the HD Rumble feature or an IR camera, and the directional buttons previously located to the left of the Joy-Con have been replaced by a traditional d-pad.

Joy-Con controllers can be purchased separately and used with the portable console to play games such as 1-2 Switch and Super Mario Party in table mode. However, unlike the flagship switch, the portable console does not include a built-in kickstand.

The estimated battery life of Switch Lite by Nintendo is 3 to 7 hours, compared to 2.5 to 6.5 hours for the launch model and between 4.5 to 9 hours for the recently updated flagship model. .
