Right now, hundreds of thousands – if not millions – people are trying to download Super Smash Bros. Ultimate version 3.0 and Joker. And unfortunately, many of these players receive an error message while the servers try not to provide the update. In turn, the Nintendo eShop as a whole began to have trouble handling requests, probably because of the stress on the servers. Nintendo has now recognized the problem in a tweet.
We understand that players encounter errors when accessing Nintendo eShop and attempt to resolve the problem. Thank you for your understanding and we hope to share an update when it is available.

However, it should be noted that Nintendo lists Super Smash Bros. Ultimate itself as a server undergoing maintenance from Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 17:50. at 20:30 PT. Despite this, some people such as our own Andrew Rockett have managed to download the update, but this can still affect the ability of players to play online for a while.
In all likelihood, the Nintendo eShop will be fully operational again by tomorrow, which is a minor inconvenience. Joker is worth the wait!

Evidence editor for game lovers. I am a writer who loves Super Nintendo and Japanese role playing to an impractical degree. I just live in South Korea.
