Today’s Dealmaster is titled with a notable Nintendo Switch Lite deal. As of this writing, those who purchase Nintendo’s handheld game console at its usual MSRP of $ 199 can receive another $ 20 in-store credit at no additional cost.

At GameStop and Best Buy, this comes in the form of an electronic gift card that will be emailed to you after your purchase. At Amazon, you will need to use the code “8RLOZI4Z5INC” to redeem a $ 20 promotional credit, either at checkout or through a drop-down menu on the Switch Lite product page. Amazon will then apply the credit to your account within seven days. Just note that Amazon’s terms and conditions say the credit will expire 60 days after it is applied, so you’ll want to spend it soon after taking advantage of the deal. Either way, this is a good opportunity for those who have been interested in the console to grab a nifty bonus along the way, as traditional discounts on the Switch Lite have been extremely rare since the device’s launch. at the end of 2019.

As a reminder, the Switch Lite is the lightest and most portable version of Nintendo’s ultra-popular gaming machine. It offers a 5.5-inch screen compared to the standard Switch’s 6.2-inch panel and weighs about 30% less. The main functional difference is that it is a fully portable machine – its ‘Joy-Con’ controllers are not detachable, it does not have a kickstand or a vibration motor, and it cannot be connected. to a TV or monitor. The smaller size means it loses a bit of battery life compared to the last model of the Normal Switch, around 3-7 hours here, compared to 4.5-9 hours on the larger model. But the rest of its internal hardware is pretty much the same as the standard Switch, meaning it can play the same game library with no performance drop (games that require a detached Joy-Con to be played notwithstanding).

Beyond that, the Lite’s screen has the same 720p resolution as before, it adds a real d-pad (which is much more comfortable), and its face buttons are softer and quieter. Most notably, the whole thing costs $ 100 less than the larger model. All in all, Kyle Orland, editor of Ars games, called the Switch Lite “the best portable system Nintendo has ever designed” in our launch review, so if you don’t plan on using the Switch on your TV, you want to save money, and don’t wait to see what Nintendo’s supposedly “Switch Pro” model looks like, it’s a worthwhile purchase.

If you’re not looking to buy a new Switch, we also have deals on our top pick of noise-canceling wireless headphones, great indoor security cameras and budget gaming headsets, the latest media streamer. top of the line Roku, Lego Kits, and much more. You can check out our full roundup below.
