Nintendo Switch error makes upcoming great game playable in advance

[ad_1]

Some Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite users are playing NEO: The world ends with you, 10 days earlier, courtesy of Square Enix. On Twitter, Wario64 reports that the Japanese publisher “accidentally” gave digital codes to NEO: Worlds End With You, but only for the Nintendo Switch. As a result, some Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite users downloaded and started playing the game more than a week before its release.

At the time of publication, others are reporting that this error – which requires the game to be purchased from the official Square Enix store – has been fixed, but as of yet, this has not been definitively confirmed. If you’re lucky enough to get a digital code, download the game and start playing it, put your Nintendo Switch in airplane mode, or just disconnect it from the internet. Otherwise, you run the risk of it being undone and your progress being messed up in the process.

It’s important to note – despite what some reports claim – this doesn’t work with Amazon. You can pre-download the game with your Amazon pre-order, but you won’t be able to play it sooner. So far, this is the only method that allows you to play the game earlier, although even this method could have been closed.

As always, we’ll be sure to update this story when and if more information arrives, whether through reliable sources or from Square Enix itself.
