Nintendo has been criticized in the past for not giving the Metroid fairly highlighted series compared to some other franchises, but it looks like things will be different this time around.

Before the release of Terror of the metroids Nintendo will roll out the red carpet for its intergalactic bounty hunter next month. In addition to all the trailers, reports, and social media posts released so far, the company has also gone so far as to launch massive Switch ads at Tokyo stations:

While that may not seem like much, keep in mind that it is Metroid that we are talking about here. See Samus instead of Super Mario, Link or Animal crossing is a big deal, and it’s great to see Nintendo giving the conclusion of the original Metroid Saga the attention it deserves.

It looks like the new entry for Switch is already set to become the best-selling Metroid game yet – with the title topping Amazon and other pre-order charts just days after its announcement. And with Metroid Prime 4 still on the way, Samus’ resurgence will likely only get bigger and better.

Do you think Nintendo did enough for Metroid Dread before its release? Are you going to pick up Dread when it arrives on Switch on October 8? Show your support in the comments below.
