Where, oh where, are the big SNES games for Nintendo’s Switch Online service? This is what I wonder after seeing the next batch of company titles: Claymates, Jelly boy and Bombuzal, scheduled to arrive on July 28. No offense to Interplay Clay series (which includes the much more memorable Clayfighter), but these are not titles that I really want to dive into. While Nintendo has done a solid job bringing some of the greatest proprietary titles to Switch Online’s SNES library, we’re still waiting for classics like Mario rpg and Tied to the earth to arrive.
There is, however, some value in letting the younger generations see the kind of headlines that the kids of the ’90s had to endure. And while Jelly boy isn’t exactly a household name, this is the first time it will be available outside of Europe, which at least makes it an interesting curiosity for retro gamers.
