Chris Darden wrote on Facebook that "cowards" had contacted him anonymously online.

He said that he would continue his legal work but would no longer defend Eric Holder.

"I can not understand why, in 2019, some people would deny a black man his right to a council of his choice under the 6th Amendment," Darden said.

"Or why the defense of such a man should raise threats not only against me but also against my children."

Eric Holder is held by the police. His bail was set at $ 5 million at a hearing, where he also pleaded not guilty.
