Former O.J. Christoper Darden, trial attorney for the murder of Simpson, has withdrawn from the defense of the alleged murderer of rapper Nipsey Hussle, The New York Daily News reports. In a Facebook message announcing that he was retiring from alleged gunman Eric Holder, Darden alluded to the death threats he and his family had received. "I do not understand why, in 2019, some people would deny a black man his right to a council of his choice under the 6th Amendment," wrote Darden. "Or why the defense of such a man should raise threats not only against me, but also against my children." Darden is best known for his lawsuit against O.J. Simpson in the 1995 murder lawsuit against Nicole Brown Simpson and his friend Ron Goldman. Today, Darden would work in private practice and would have worked in other gang – related cases.

Holder is accused of shooting down the Grammy-nominated rapper in March outside his Los Angeles store. Hussle was scheduled to meet with the Los Angeles Police Department about stopping gang violence the day after his assassination.
