NJ COVID Vaccine Appointment Call Center Goes Online Monday

A toll-free phone line will go online on Monday to help people who don’t have a computer to make an appointment for a coronavirus vaccine.

The call center number, 855-568-0545, says in a Sunday recording that live agents will take calls starting the week of January 25.

North Jersey.com reported that the call center was launched at 8 a.m. on Monday, staffed with 250 agents.

State Health Commissioner Judy Persichilli last week announced a call center for residents who could not use the online registry.

The call center will have “an interactive voice-response platform in English and Spanish that provides key information to New Jersey residents on how to register (for a vaccine) as well as how to schedule vaccination appointments when people become eligible, ”said the commissioner told me.

The call center complements the online vaccine registry, which launched earlier this month. When an online user is eligible, they will receive an email from the state with a link to choose a vaccination location and schedule an appointment.

The state’s health department has warned that appointments for vaccines are limited due to supply limitations.
