New Jersey districts are calling for school closings, delayed openings and other schedule changes for Monday due to a major winter storm that is expected to bring up to two feet of snow to a significant portion of the city. State.
As hundreds of districts continue to offer fully distance learning courses due to the coronavirus outbreak, schools operating under in-person and hybrid models may choose to switch to distance learning for the day rather than cancel school completely.
But with high winds and large totals of snow in the forecast, the potential for power outages remains likely.
Parts of New Jersey could see up to two feet of snow during the Feb. 1 snowstorm, according to the NWS.National Meteorological Service
The National Weather Service has placed almost the entire state on a winter storm warning with 2-4 inches of snow expected Sunday before a lull that lasts until early Monday. Snow will likely be heavy on Monday, with some areas hitting up to 3 inches per hour. Snow could linger on Tuesday and bring total accumulations to 2 feet for the northern half of the state.
