NJ tops list of most displaced states in 2020 for third year in a row

New Jersey, for the third year in a row, tops the list of most displaced states in 2020.

The study also found that the COVID-19 pandemic was being taken into account and was speeding up many decisions to relocate.

The main outgoing states for 2020 were:

1. New Jersey

2. New York

3. Illinois

4. Connecticut

5. California

6. Kansas

7. North Dakota

8. Massachusetts

9. Ohio

10. Maryland

Over 60% of all movements in the Northeastern United States were outgoing movements.

The 44th annual survey bases the ranking of destinations on the percentage of inbound and outbound state movements compared to overall state movements.
