EAST RUTHERFORD – Could the next World Wrestling Event include a steel cage match between WWE President Vince McMahon and NJ Transit officials? Maybe with Governor Phil Murphy somewhere in the middle?

Fans went on Twitter to discuss long queues for buses in the parking lot as the rain continued to fall. Rail users also reported that the trains were full and did not move to take them from Meadowlands Station to Secaucus to catch the next train.

NJ Transit stated that a last-minute decision taken by the World Wrestling Federation to extend Wrestlemania after an agreed time "has had significant operational repercussions on" its ability to transport users of trains and buses after the event. ;event. time."

Governor Phil Murphy said at a press conference Thursday that the number of crews available had increased from six to three after the event, which he said recalled "the disorder of which we inherited "Christie's administration.

"We did not hire engineers, we had too few courses and we left them," which left NJ Transit with fewer scheduling options, "he said. declared.

The governor also criticized the lack of communication with the riders about what was happening.

"At the end of the day, if people are frustrated, they should be," Murphy said. "I would have been crazy if I stood there. And by the way, I'm told they did not communicate with. We did not tell them what was happening. It's completely, totally, the dog has eaten my unacceptable homework. Period."

Murphy said the agency would learn from Wrestlemania and recalled the post-Super Bowl problems encountered in 2014 after the match.

"Wrestlemania is the Super Bowl of professional wrestling. This is unacceptable. Period. We are repairing it. We will learn from it and I will be damned if it happens again, "he said.

Murphy said that he was at the event for an hour at the beginning.

"By the end of the evening, we were able to securely carry more than 12,000 MetLife customers last night," said the agency.

The agency said it was able to make last-minute adjustments, such as keeping the last trains of the night and adding several more trips between Secaucus and Penn Station, in New York, using teams and trains from the entire system. "

MetLife Statdium representatives have not yet responded to a message requesting comment.

The WW said in an email that he regretted "all the inconveniences that fans might have with public transport after the event".

The attendance at Wrestlemania 35 was the third largest in the history of the event, surpassed by more than 101,000 people at the Dallas Texas Stadium in 2016 and 93,173 at the former Silverdome of Wrestlemania 3 in 1987.
