A New Jersey transit agent who was filmed throwing a man down at least twice was put on leave during an investigation.
The one – minute video taken on Saturday shows a New Jersey Transit officer who is dragging down a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt, shouting him to get up in front of the Trenton Transit Center. The agent has not been identified.
At one point in the video, the agent seems to hit or slap the man who is not moving on the floor. The man with the hoodie did not speak in the video and did not seem to resist the agent. It has not been identified.
A spokeswoman for the woman who filmed the video, who wishes to remain anonymous, told NBC News Monday that the man appeared to be injured.
"The case is currently under investigation by the Internal Affairs Department of the New Jersey Transit Police Department," said the transit service in a statement. "The agent has been suspended administratively pending the results of this investigation."
