N’Keal Harry has already cleared the air with Cam Newton.

Wednesday, Patriots thread posted a story with quotes from Rischad Whitfield, a footwork expert Harry has worked with extensively, and the coach reportedly blamed Newton for his lack of production.

“We have a new quarterback. We need to put some of that (curse) on Cam, ” Whitfield said. “Cam was not the most precise this year. As if (N’Keal) had Tom Brady, Tom Brady would have fed him. But we’re back with Cam and Cam getting used to the attack as well.

“It’s a big deal from Tom Brady to Cam Newton. … This is one of Cam Newton’s biggest problems is the mechanics.

However, Whitfield was not at all happy with the history of Patriots Wire. After it was posted, the trainer took to Twitter and accused its author, Henry McKenna, of misquoting him.

McKenna responded by saying these were official quotes and he upheld his report.

In a conference call Thursday afternoon, Harry said he had met Newton before to make sure the quarterback knew he didn’t feel this way.

“I just let him know and made sure he knew that whatever he said, I don’t know what was said, nothing was coming from me,” Harry said. “Rischad didn’t tell me anything like that. It doesn’t seem to me that this exact statement is anything he would say. I don’t know if this was taken out of context or what happened, but I don’t know that this conversation never came from me, and it was never anything that I was aware of until. ‘to see her on social media.

Harry spoke at length about what Newton’s advice meant to him, and was effusive again in praising his leadership.

“He’s been great,” Harry said. “He really went out of his way and really made a conscious effort to make sure that he is doing everything he can to help me. Just sort of mentoring me throughout this season, and he’s been a big help so far.
