LANCASTER, Pa .– No confrontation led to last week’s shooting that killed a Pennsylvania woman vacationing on a North Carolina freeway when another driver shot the family’s car, said her husband.
Ryan Eberly, 40, told Lancaster, Pa., Police that he may have accidentally forced the other motorist onto the shoulder of Interstate 95 southbound when he changed lanes before to see the other car, but it didn’t make the situation worse.

“I didn’t give him a finger or beep my horn at him or anything to make it worse at all,” Eberly said.
Julie Eberly, 47, died in a hospital after the shooting last Thursday.
Investigators did not arrest a suspect, although the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office described the alleged gunman’s appearance and identified his vehicle, posting a photo of the silver four-door Chevrolet Malibu online.
The Eberlys were going on a beach vacation to Hilton Head Island to celebrate their seventh wedding anniversary. They have six children after each bringing three children to the marriage.
Eberly said he swung into the right lane to get around a slower driver and became aware of the Malibu driving on the shoulder. The driver of the Malibu rolled down his window and gestured, Eberly said.
Eberly said he responded by waving sorry and returned to the left lane. Moments later, he noticed that the Malibu was following closely behind him before the driver stood beside him, rolled down the window and started firing, Eberly said.
“I looked over. My car’s passenger window was smashed. My wife called my name, ”Eberly said.
After the bullets were fired, the Malibu continued on its way, its driver holding the handgun out the window.
“My immediate attention turned to my wife and obviously I determined that she had been punched and put on her shoulder as soon as I could,” he said. -he declares.

The family opened a GoFundMe account, stating, “We want to raise funds to honor Julie and her life. Julie was a beautiful, loving, generous and generous person.
