No, Cyberpunk 2077 does not have a 56GB Day One patch on PS4, PS5

Cyberpunk 2077 Day One PS5 PS4 Patch

Cyberpunk 2077 is only a week away from its release, and it honestly looks like parts of the internet are about to implode. The hype is most certainly real, and as is usually the case with the imminent launch of something huge, a lot of people are currently losing their minds over what is apparently complete misinformation.

Here’s what’s happening: Some people got their copy of Cyberpunk 2077 early. One of those people took to Reddit to prove they had the game, posting a photo of Cyberpunk 2077 being installed on their PS5. This image has since been deleted, but it still floats on Twitter.

The original poster claimed they were uploading a colossal Day 1 patch for the PS4 title – weighing in at 56 GB. Naturally, a number of sites immediately spread this story as it spread on social media – but according to CD Projekt Red’s Fabian Mario Döhla, such a patch does not even exist. At least not yet.

It looks like the 56GB in question is actually Cyberpunk 2077’s install size on PS4. CD Projekt Red has yet to make an official statement on the release of a day one patch.

And that’s about it. The only other thing we want to mention is that, again, some people already have Cyberpunk 2077 – and that will inevitably lead to leaks before the game launches next week. Be careful there!
