LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – The Las Vegas police said that information reporting a shootout on Fremont Street during a free concert last night is false.

Many participants at the Downtown Rocks free concert, starring rapper Nelly, went on social media to announce that shots had been fired. Videos have been circulating showing hundreds of people fleeing the scene.

Las Vegas police told 8 News Now that "nothing important had happened" and that their officers were there to help with the large crowd.

The D hotel-Casino has posted concert videos on their social networking platforms throughout the night without any mention of a shoot.

The Downtown Rocks Concert Series will continue to host free shows on Fremont Street Experience throughout the summer. Featured artists include award-winning artists Eli Young Band, Collective Soul and I Love The 90's Tour, along with Vanilla Ice, Montell Jordan, The 4-One, Tone Loc and Coolio.
