A Boeing 767 airliner enroute to Houston with three people aboard crashed Saturday in Trinity Bay, near the town of Anahuac, east of Houston.
The sheriff said that the cargo plane had disintegrated when it crashed into a bay east of Houston and that no survivor should be found .
"It's probably an accident that nobody would survive," said Brian Hawthorne, Sheriff of Chambers County.
According to FlightAware.com, an aerial tracking service, the craft went from 6,525 feet to 3,025 feet in 30 seconds at approximately 12:45.
Hawthorne said witnesses heard the aircraft engines soar when it hit Trinity Bay "the nose first". A debris field spans three quarters of a mile.
Hawthorne says recovery of some parts of the plane and remains of the three people on board will be difficult in muddy marshes from a depth of about five feet in the region.
Inflatable boats are needed to access the area called Jack's Pocket located at the north end of the bay.
